As part of our Teacher Appreciation Event - the PTO is also recognizing Heart of the Hills: A Celebration of Those Who Keep Us Going
Heart of the Hills is a PTO recognition and appreciation event honoring the often-unseen individuals whose daily work sustains the life of the school. From operations to support roles, these are the people who ensure that learning can happen—quietly, consistently, and with care. This event shines a light on their impact, elevates their status, and reinforces a culture of gratitude and respect across the entire school community.
At its core, Heart of the Hills exists to:
- Recognize the essential contributions of non-instructional and support staff
- Celebrate the humans behind the roles
- Strengthen community by helping students, faculty, and families see the full ecosystem of the school
- Create a lasting culture of appreciation
The “heart” includes individuals across roles such as:
- Buildings and Grounds / Facilities and maintenance teams
- Administrative staff
- IT and tech support
- Transportation staff
- Pomptonian food service team
- Security personnel
- Aides, assistants, and behind-the-scenes coordinators
These are the people who are the pulse of the school, keeping the wheels turning and the lights on—often without recognition.
On April 30th, the PTO delivered over 94 personalized Heart of The Hills To-Go backpacks with snacks and drinks in them for each of the Auxiliary staff in our Warrior Community who keep the engine going, making WH a clean, healthy, safe environment for our students and educators in which to learn.
In Coach Ascolese's Junior Health Cycle Class, Coach Asco partnered with the PTO to have students write positive affirmations and thanks on paper hearts to these members of the WH Staff, and the PTO has put these on a notice board as part of the recognition of their service and contribution to our learning community.
The PTO recognizes their valuable contribution to our community.
