INFORMATION FROM THE SCHOOL

Dear Seniors and families,

As we enter the final stretch of the year, we wanted to take this time to provide updates regarding the end of the school year events and graduation. Additional information including Projection Graduation celebration events will be articulated as we get closer to graduation, but we wanted to share some preliminary information. 

Monday, June 1st will be when senior fines begin to be posted in Genesis. Chromebooks, stylus, and chargers can be returned to the Learning Commons starting on June 4th during school hours. 

Monday, June 8th is the last full day of school and the last day of attendance recording for seniors. All seniors must be in school on June 8th to attend the Prom. Seniors only will be excused after the Senior Awards that will be hosted at 9am in the PAC.

Thursday, June 11th will be yearbook distribution day and obligation day. Seniors can pick up their yearbooks and fulfill any returns or fines through the entrance doors by the JV baseball field. Please check the parent portal daily for any fines. If obligations are not cleared by 12pm on 6/11 then the cap and gown will not be available for pick up until after 1pm on 6/12.

Friday, June 12th will be the first graduation practice. Seniors are to report to gym 5/6 at 8am. Seniors with no obligations will be able to pick up their graduation cap and gown immediately following practice. Students are to enter through the outside doors located near the bathrooms opposite the JV baseball field. Students with last names A–L will be in room 105 and students with last names M-Z will be in room 106. 

Monday, June 15th will be the second graduation practice. Seniors are to meet at the tennis courts with their names affixed to their diploma covers at 10am. Remaining graduation cap and gown pick up after practice in room 105.

  • Diploma covers are in the bag that the graduates’ caps and gowns are in. This is the only diploma cover students will receive. Graduates will need to print their name, on a piece of paper, and affix it to the back of their diploma cover to show the students reading graduates names during the ceremony. This will be explained to graduates at the 6/12 & 6/15 graduation practice.

Tuesday, June 16th is Graduation Day! Students are to be dropped off in the front parking lot by 7:45am and walk down the side of the building and report to Gym 3/4.

  • The procession will begin promptly at 8:45am and the ceremony will begin once the procession is complete. 
  • Graduation will be held, rain or shine, so please look for information on our website for any time changes due to weather. 
  • Graduation is approximately one and a half hours long. 
  • Tickets will not be needed to attend our outdoor graduation.
  • Graduates should wear appropriate attire to graduation. 
  • Graduates are to pick up their actual diplomas after the ceremony in Gym 1/2.

More information regarding Graduation Day will be sent later in May.

Important Message About Parking On Graduation Day

  • Graduates need to arrive at 7:45am on June 16th and report to Gym 3/4.
  • Students cannot park on campus. Please feel free to drop off your student and then park.
  • Carpool if possible as parking is limited. Parking is not permitted for attendees until 7:30am.
  • We will be providing shuttle service from the Mountain Avenue Parking lot to the unloading area by the JV Baseball field. 
  • Weather permitting, parking on Mountain Avenue fields will also be allowed.
  • You will be able to drop off anyone that needs assistance getting to the turf field in the North Parking lot by the JV baseball field by 8am. We will escort the person in a golf cart to the field as you park your car in general parking. Due to space limitations, only one person can sit with a handicapped individual in the designated tent area behind the graduates; all other family members and friends must sit in the stands. All seating is on a first come first served basis.
  • Anyone in need of handicapped parking must arrive by 7:45am, have a State MVC Handicap Placard and/or State MVC HC license plates; we will not be supplying placards. Handicap parking will be in the North Building parking lot near the tennis courts.

IMPORTANT INFO FOR ATTENDING

Please help us make this a smooth and memorable night for everyone by reviewing the key reminders below:

  • 🚌 MANDATORY BUS TRANSPORTATION
    All students must ride the provided buses to and from Iron Peak Sports & Events. No exceptions.
  • 🎒 NO BAGS
    No bags of any kind are allowed. Any brought will be collected and held for the duration of the event.
  • 🚫 NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR BEVERAGES
    Including water bottles. Food and drinks will be provided at the venue.
  • 💊 MEDICAL NEEDS?
    If your student requires medication, this should have been indicated on the RSVP form. All health info is handled confidentially.
  • 📝 CODE OF CONDUCT
    Students are expected to follow all event rules. Any student found under the influence, with contraband, or engaging in unsafe behavior will be removed and a parent/guardian will be contacted to pick them up.
